Sometimes the best views of the places we visit are from the airplane (if you’re fortunate enough to get a window seat, that is). On this short flight from Jogjakarta, on the Indonesian island of Java, to Denpasar, Bali, I was treated to this view of 3 of Java’s volcanoes. It is moments like these that I feel completely in awe of our planet, with its diversity of landscape and incredible beauty that make my existence seem insignificant.

Beautiful photo
I would never have guessed an airplane – no glare. That is a beautiful photo you got – and what a rugged looking landscape.
Thanks, Leigh!
Wow, so pretty. I feel the same. One reason I always try and get a window seat. Nothing I like more than viewing what lies outside.
Yes, I agree. I am fortunate because every time we fly to Brazil, we pass over Utah and Arizona…so beautiful!
I am dying to get to Indonesia! And I’m with Leigh — how did you get it so glare-free?
I’m sure you will love it! And aren’t you in SE Asia right now? I don’t know how I got it so glare-free. I think I put the camera right up to the glass, and I guess I was lucky!
Very nice shot! And Leigh is right, no glare… I thought you took it from another mountain or something
Gorgeous!! I flew from Bangkok to Jogjakarta a few years ago. I don’t remember this fabulous view
WOW, how beautiful!
What an incredible view! Airplanes always have some of the best panoramas
WOW! Love it!
I love volcanoes, great photo.
