Sometimes everything just comes together perfectly in one moment. That’s how this sunset on the Pacific was. I was relaxing on the deck of the house we rented in Carmel, California, sitting in a hot tub with my sister-in-law, building common ground through unhurried conversation. No agenda. The sunset became more beautiful with every glance; the birds flew up and down and around, looking for a place to rest for the night. It all came together in one perfect moment, not unlike every other moment in life except that we usually don’t stop to appreciate them. That’s what I love about traveling–the chance to step away from the usual rush of life and appreciate what is.
What perfect moments do you remember? What struck you about them?

Nice shot. The odds of seeing the sunset in Carmel this week are slim and none as we are having “Seattle weather” in Northern California.

We had clear, sunny weather the whole time we were there! But it was in late December. A great time.

You captured such a beautiful picture with the perfect colors. It really does make you appreciate special moments in life. Thanks for sharing. My perfect moments would be watching my kids enjoying their experiences while traveling whether it’s eating a new food or seeing that famous landmark for the first time. It’s the priceless expressions that stay with me.

The Colors are just beautiful. I love photos around sunset, you cant always predict how the sunset will be, but when you get a good one they are just magical.

Hi Jenna
That’s a fantastic photo – love the bird silhouettes! I was able to get some beautiful sunset pictures on a recent trip to Bali. The one I remember best involved having to race to the coast in a taxi cab to get there before the sun set, then having to run with the driver to get to the perfect spot overlooking the temple at Tanah Lot. Made it with about three minutes to spare!
Thanks for sharing.
