If you ever have the chance to do the 17-Mile Drive along the Monterey Peninsula in California, do it. Don’t rush. Take your time stopping at every vista point, watching the sea animals, admiring the forests, and reading about the area’s history in the brochure that comes with your $9.50 toll. It’s worth every second and every view.
