The Monterey Peninsula: A Sneak Peek in Photos

As we are getting ready to pack up the car and head back to Sacramento, I can’t help but think about how amazing the Monterey Peninsula is. I have been here 4 times, and I thought that after this 4-day stay, I would finally feel like I had seen it all and wouldn’t need to come back any time soon. I was wrong–there is still more exploring to do here and enough gorgeous walks to fill up another week, like this morning walk on Asilomar State Beach.

If you haven’t been to the Monterey Peninsula, put it on your list. You won’t be disappointed. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of this area; more detailed posts are coming soon.

I love monterey and carmel and grew up going there and often bringing visiting family from europe there. the 17 mile drive always made an impression. and we love staying close to the acquarium so kids can scooter there , lock it up in their lockers and enjoy the day.

Nice idea about staying near the aquarium. My kids still need lots of supervision while there but when they are older, it would be nice for them to spend the day there as you mentioned.

I loved seeing the pictures. I also grew up going to the Monterey bay area and have such fond memories (including of my honeymoon in Carmel). We took our kids when they were really young, but are looking forward to taking them back to one of our favorite regions soon. They are almost 10 & 11 and will really enjoy it. We live in WA now, so it’s a bit of a hike! Love the aquarium too.

I can practically smell the eucalyptus trees by looking at your pictures!
