One of my new online indulgences is lifestyle blogs. I have a shortlist of best lifestyle blogs that I check almost every evening. Because most of them post five days a week, there is plenty of content for me to peruse when I sit down to relax with a glass of wine after my kids go to bed. I spend only about 10 minutes browsing through them most evenings, but I enjoy the colorful photos (often of California), food photos, design inspiration, travel ideas, and even parenting posts. After browsing many, I’ve narrowed it down to these 10 best lifestyle blogs. What are your favorite lifestyle blogs?
This blog features lifestyle snippets from my home region (she lives down the freeway in Davis, a perfect college town) and as a parent of her second child, includes plenty about being a mother and having kids, things I certainly can relate to. Her design posts (like this one) about her Streng Bros. designed home are gorgeous, but it’s often the little details, like picking blackberries in her family’s garden and walking among almond blossoms in spring, that I enjoy most. And Ashley’s travelogues are inspiring!
A Cup of Jo is a bit more girly than my usual interests, but the content is varied and fun and sometimes unexpected. This former magazine editor’s blog posts cover parenting, life in New York City, relationships, clothing, food, and much more.
It seems like almost everything trendy comes out of San Francisco, this website included. This blog has become a big business, and for good reason…it’s sleek, stylish and fun. And her site has gotten a bit more fun for parents like me because the founder has just had her first child.
This site is just so nice to look at! The design is clean (no sidebar, no ads) and the photos of Paris are beautiful. If you’re like me and enjoy seeing life in some of Europe’s grandest cities, you’ll ooh and ahh over the flowers, streets, parks, markets, and other details of life in Paris.
Sarah and her husband are both photographers, so the site is gorgeous. She lives what she calls a “simple and slow-paced” life in Southern California, and focuses on style, food, travel, and difficult topics like her health struggles and the end of her father-in-law’s life. I appreciate that she opens up about something of real importance on occasion.
And a few more additions:
A lifestyle blog mostly about minimalism plus travel, food and family life.
A new favorite! Minimalism, design, and more from a creative couple based in Luxembourg.
One of my favorite sites for modern moms.
Sigh…I love Florence, and these blogs show the best of contemporary life in this stylish Italian city.
And 6 of the best minimalism blogs
