For Your Weekend

View of Tower Bridge, Sacramento

I didn’t mention this before, but I just finished several days at home with my kids while my husband accompanied his mother and sister to New York City. Of course, I was envious because it’s one of my favorite places from my childhood, and I’ve been wanting to take my kids there to relive some of the fun I had there starting when I was about seven.

Instead of exploring Manhattan, I’m exploring my hometown yet again this weekend. Fellow bloggers/writers Cassie and Garrick are coming to Sacramento, and I can’t wait to show them around some of my favorite local spots and discover some new ones with them. You can follow our adventures on Instagram. Stick around for a big post coming on Monday; in the meantime, here are some of my favorite links for your weekend reading. 🙂

I’m almost done with this book, which was named one of the top 10 books of the year by the New York Times. Have you read it?

Another post by The Everywhereist that made me laugh out loud 😀

Not surprising, but here’s some evidence of the toll screen addiction has on children. Ugh.

So much fun this weekend, Jenna! Thanks for showing us around your lovely city! I’ll let you know when I share a post with my pics, I’ll put it up sometime later this week.

Also, I love the look of that tunic shirt (and I have a few I brought back from India), but I don’t know how to wear them. They always make me feel like I’m wearing a bag. Any tips?

Looking forward to your post and pics of Sac. 🙂

About the tunic, I guess my only words of advice are to wear something skinny on the bottom and to size down. Most of these tunics can be bought in a size smaller than what you usually wear (I always check the reviews to see what others who have bought it have to say) and then wear them with skinny jeans or shorts to balance out the big shape on top. And some tunics have a better shape than others. I just bought one from Anthropolgie that was completely hideous. Looked like a huge long sack! 😀
