What do you have planned for this weekend? It’s been a surprisingly nice week here. My older son attended a half-day soccer camp all week, and it turned out to be one of the best things we did all summer! Not only did he love it, but it also gave me the excuse to sit in a park a couple of those mornings–to spend some quiet hours (and catch up on work) with my younger son in the shade of a redwood with the joyful cries of kids playing soccer in the distance. I’ve also added an evening walk to my daily routine and spent two afternoons in Midtown Sacramento for some much-needed adults-only time.
But what could turn into monotony at home on vacation is about to be interrupted by a trip to see my dad and stepmom at their new home in Washington State.
