This list is not very long but includes the sites that I actually read and visit often. It changes according to what inspires me, so check back for updates.
Uncornered Market: A simply awesome, inspiring site by a pair of long-term world travelers. Amazing photographs, too.
Inside the Travel Lab: One of my favorite sites. Great photos, in-depth articles, all with a slightly unusual twist
No Vacation Required: Two guys who inspire me by maximizing life, challenging the norm, and fighting poverty
No Onions Extra Pickles: I love art and travel, and so does Ashley, a San Francisco art history graduate student.
Suzy Guese: A young female solo traveler with a gift for writing and a shared love of Italy and travel in Europe
Adventurous Kate: Another young, intelligent solo traveler who’s having a blast traveling the world
Fevered Mutterings: Damned smart, witty writing by a passionate travel writer
Jack and Jill Travel: Just an all-around wonderful travel site!
Eurotravelogue: If you love photographs of France and Italy’s charms, this is for you. Jeff and I share a love of the Renaissance and Florence, Italy.
Wild About Travel: Simon is an Italian travelholic. She is sweet and adventurous, and I love her photographs.
Budget Travel Adventures: Lots of info. for budget-minded travelers by a fellow Sacramento area resident
The Jungle Princess: Abby spent a life-changing year in Costa Rica before recently returning to the U.S. Who wouldn’t want to have a glass of wine with this smart yet down-to-earth woman?
Traveling Savage: Beautiful, evocative writing by a traveler passionate about Scotland.
Act of Traveling: Want to get inspired to travel with your children? Have fears that limit your experiences? Emiel travels all over the globe with his two beautiful kids and seems to have a wonderful time doing it.
Wayward Traveler: Annie was living my dream– she lived in Florence, Italy, but now she has moved to Australia. Her “cultural lessons” learned from her Italian boyfriend make me laugh.
A Sense of Place: Erin shares her knowledge of art history and blogs about some of my favorite topics: architecture, food, travel, and design.
Brendan’s Adventures: Brendan’s site has really grown on me. This long-term traveler explored every inch of South America before journeying to Central America and the Caribbean. His photographs are outstanding!
Bacon is Magic: Ayngelina blogged her way through a year traveling alone in Latin America. Her site is personal, funny, moving, and often thought-provoking. You can’t help but love her (and her fantastic photos).
Man on the Lam: This guy either makes me think or cracks me up, and his insights into Southeast Asia fascinate me since I have many students from there.
Hike Bike Travel: Travel inspiration and destination information with an outdoor and adventure focus
Cheryl Howard: All about European travel and expat life, especially for women.
Sophie’s World: It seems like Sophie has been everywhere, often with her kids. Her writing is top-notch.
Bringing Travel Home: Monique shares her experiences as a former expat in Italy who has resettled in California.
Traveling with Sweeney: Fellow Californian Cathy Sweeney has a great attitude and love of little details. I never tire of seeing what she’s up to next.
Inspiring Travellers: John and Andrea’s travels certainly inspire me! They’ve just settled in Norway, and I look forward to seeing how their new life as expats in Europe unfolds.
